Dar es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania and the commercial hub of the country. It is also one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The city is served by an international airport (see map), and is a convenient point of entry or exit from the country. It is also an ‘eventful’ stopover on the way to Zanzibar or other southern Tanzanian resorts. Some of Tanzania’s best beaches are found merely a few hours drive from Dar es Salaam.
