Beach Holidays
Pangani
Zanzibar
Dar es Salaam

Pangani lies about 50 kms south from Tanga (see map). Once a home of Arab merchants and slave traders, it is now a small, sleepy town on the estuary of the Pangani river. It is a remote and exotic location, for those who want to get away from it all. Long stretches of untouched, uncommercialised, uninhabited, beaches. Here you will get away from all the hustle bustle of daily ‘routine’, and relax by the pool, and get spoilt by the resort staff.

If you need a break from all the relaxation, take a tour of the village. This includes visiting numerous historical monuments, the slave depots and markets, ancient mosques, and traditional houses…many of which boast intricate carved wooden doors and furniture. You will also get the opportunity to visit local carpetmakers, wood carvers, basket weavers and other craftsmen.

Alternatively, take an ‘agricultural and nature’ walk. You will be shown some of the most spectacular scenery, as well as the fascinating culture of Pangani. You will visit local farmers, see the coconut processing project, the sisal estates, and also the unique coral shore where fossils of a 200 million year old dinosaur rest. You will also get the opportunity to swim in some of the most beautiful beaches in Tanzania.
